The objectives of the Society are:
- To stimulate, and provide surgical leadership in the art and science of patient care.
- To serve as a knowledgeable and respected advocate for general surgeon specialists, and also seeks to enhance General Surgery as a specialty.
- To encourage training opportunities, funding, and scientific publications supporting the foregoing activities.
